Chapter 2 Gatsby Blog Post

The characters that we have met so far in the story have bad morals because they all care about being rich and having nice things.  The wealthier members of society are care-free and they feel like they can do what they want with no consequences.  Tom especially fits these descriptions of the typical rich character in the book.  None of the characters in the story remind me of anyone that I know.  Women are definitely portrayed in the story as inferior to the men. Although the women try to act confident and try to stick up for themselves and what they believe in, actions such as Tom breaking Myrtle's nose is a prime example of the degradation of women.
